Richard E. Webster is Founding Director of
College Counseling Plus. With a career in education spanning four decades, and a
concentration in college admission counseling, Dick’s broad understanding of
the college admission process has opened doors for countless students.
Having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Johns Hopkins
University, where he also captained the Blue Jays lacrosse team, Dick worked
his way up the proverbial ladder as teacher, coach, department chair, college
counselor, headmaster and board president, serving several outstanding academic
institutions including Severn School (Severna Park, MD), Sewickley Academy
(Sewickley, PA), Wroxeter School (Arnold, MD), Landon School (Bethesda, MD), La
Lumiere School (La Porte, IN), Montclair Kimberley Academy (Montclair, NJ), and
Boys’ Latin School in Baltimore, where he spent 12 years as Director of College
Counseling.
Dick was the Founding Director of The Excellence Quest Foundation, whose
mission, to encourage young men and women to adopt excellence as a standard and
to reject mediocrity as an option, he continues to practice today. Currently a
member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the
Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling, and an
associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, Dick
has previously served on the Dickinson College Parents Council, the Kenwood High
School Business Advisory Committee, and the Ways and Means Council of the Manresa-On-The-Severn
Retreat House. As a volunteer, Dick has served with
such organizations as the House of Ruth, the American Heart Association and
American Diabetes Association.
